“WANTED:  READERS”

WINTER READING CLUB

IMPORTANT DATES:

Wed., Jan. 2 – Book reporting begins and Read-to-Me logs available for

Parents to pick up

Thurs. Jan 17 – 1st to 6th graders must begin reporting by this date.

Thurs. Jan. 31 – Last day for book reporting and last day to hand in completed Read-to-me logs.

Sat. Feb. 9 – Reading Club Party – by invitation only

 

“Pony Tales” Read-to-Me Club for ages 2 ˝ years to Kindergarten. 

Requirements:  Complete a log of 20 books which you have read to your

child at home.  Parents should pick up a reading log beginning Tuesday,

January 2.  Return your child’s completed log of 20 books by                Thursday, January 31.

JANUARY 10                  Ages:  18 months – Pre-kindergarten

                                      Limit:  25 per session

                                      Time:  6:15 – 7:15pm or 7:30 – 8:30pm

                                      NO OLDER SIBLINGS PLEASE.

                                      Children must be pre-kindergarten age. 

                                      Musical activities and a craft.

 

THURSDAYS                  “L.I. Chess Nuts” Chess Workshops

JANUARY 10, 17, 24,      Ages:  Kindergarten – Grade 3 

and 31                                       Time:  4:30 – 5:30pm

 

FRIDAYS                       Ages:  Grades 4 – 6 

JANUARY 11, 18, 25,      Time:  4:30 – 5:30pm

And FEB. 1                      $20.00 fee to be paid at registration for these

                                      4-week programs.  Limit:  20 per class

                                      No refunds for missed classes.  All materials will

                                      be provided.

JANUARY 12                  WITH MARGE MARCHAND

                                      For cowboys and cowgirls,  Kindergarten – Grade 6

                                      Times:  Kindergarten – 2nd grade:  10 – 10:45am or

                                                  11 – 11:45am

                                                  Grades 3 – 6:  12 – 12:45pm  Limit: 25

                                      These are “all by myself” dance classes.

                                      a sailboat in rough seas in Edward Hopper’s style.

                                      $3.00 to be paid at registration.

                                      Time:  4 – 4:45pm or 5 – 5:45pm

                                      Limit:  20.  Get out of the cold and into the library.

                                      Join us for our winter craft!                                                                          $2.50 materials fee due at registration.

                                      A musical program just for babies!

 

SATURDAY                    PARENT AND CHILD ART WORKSHOP

JANUARY 19                  Time:   2 – 3pm  Ages:  3 – 5 years with

                                      Parent or caregiver.  Wear a smock!  Children

                                      Will paint a landscape of their favorite winter

                                      Pastime, similar to Grandma Moses’ style.
